Open Question: What to charge for a wedding cake?
Posted on Jun 08, 2009 under Wedding Cake Toppers Q&A | I’m trying to get out there and do some cake decorating on the side, but I have NO idea what to charge. I generally just charge for the cost of the ingredient and a little more, which is generally a lot cheaper than anyone else….but this person wants to know how much for the top small cake to be real and then the rest fake…. now I was thinking $20 for the top and then $10 or $15 for the other 2 layers if they had three, but that seems incredibly cheap…. they were also asking about sheet cakes, which is why the main cake wouldn’t need to be real. If the other layers were real, how much should I charge? HELP!
I don’t want to charge A LOT because honestly most cake bakers overcharge, IMO.
