Voting Question: NES (8-bit) Wedding…Can It Be Done?
Posted on Sep 26, 2009 under Wedding Cake Toppers Q&A |I’m a gamer through and through….I still have all of my old systems and games, and have played games since I was able to remember. My fiancee is more the girlie type, but she does play some games and enjoys my choice of hobby. I told her recently I wanted to do some things to stay true to my roots even at our wedding (I’m renting a couple of projectors so guests can play games at the reception….it’ll keep things interesting for those who don’t want to dance). However, what I’m looking for help with is figuring out 2 parts:
1) Is there anybody who could direct me towards somebody who may be able to mach up (free) a half and half cake…..either being split down the middle with one half being 8 bit NES themed and the other half being frilly, or with the first tier being 8 bit and then transitioning up into more traditional tiers.
2) Does anybody know of a place that makes custom cake toppers? I’d like to have an 8-bit bride and groom on the top and am wondering how much it would run to have one crafted.
Thanks and feel free to add additional suggestions if any of my fellow dorks have suggestions how to make this a great wedding.
To clarify, there are two or three cake decorating places in my hometown that said they could do either design for the combined cake if I wanted. I live in a really big city, so finding somebody to make it wouldn’t be a problem. However, I could see doing two seperate, smaller cakes too. Seems to kind of defeat the purpose of the wedding cake though, since weddings are all about unity, not dividing.
